The Joy in the Journey

A Letter to myself
There’s so much that I could say, but I guess I could Just start by saying thank you. Thank you for never giving up even though you had many reasons to. You did it! you did it sad you did it scared heartbroken, you did it when things were falling apart. You did it tired very tired, after working long shifts at multiple jobs not because you ever wanted to but because you had to provide. You did it while raising your sibling and the most amazing little girl, doing anything and everything to not miss out on her. Thank you for being the mother you needed when you were younger and showing her to go after your dreams, while navigating and balancing it all especially because some days were hard but you did your best so thank you! You continued to do it even after the many meltdowns, crying sessions moments of doubting yourself when didn’t think you were smart enough, good enough, or like you belonged in this field. So thank you. My hope is that you can look back now but not just at hard it was to get here but also how beautiful the journey was to do so. The hundreds of clinical hours that seemed so daunting and never ending, but also gave you some of the most unforgettable experiences that have shaped you to the nurse you’re going to be. The best people who quickly became more than classmates, they became friends who cheered you on, constantly reminded you to be proud of yourself and helped you in more ways than they’ll ever know. Most importantly how the care and dedication you gave to patients during nursing and moving forward will make a difference. You did it I am so proud and grateful for you.
